MDA Dancers Take Part in Traveling Tutu's

MDA Petites participated in Traveling Tutu's. At Traveling Tutus, they believe unneeded costumes and dance attire are a precious resource that can be re-purposed to bring joy to children all around the world. As a dancer, dance parent, instructor, or friend of the arts you know all too well how dance can be used to instill confidence, give joy, and foster self-expression. We are so proud of our Petite team for donating their time with www.travelingtutus.org

MDA Donates to Saber Nation Station

MDA dancers attended Midwest Starz this past weekend, and as impressive as all the dancing, placements, and awards were, MDA is proud to announce that our dancers participated in the Starz trophy buyback program during the competition. Dancers voluntarily donated back the awards they received after each awards ceremony. Midwest Starz then provided a donation to an organization of our choice for the value of the medal and then matched that amount! Additionally, MDA matched Midwest Starz’s donation for a grand total of $1,000. The organization of our choice was Saber Nation Station. Thank you to all our families for raising such strong character driven dancers who recognize the value of giving back to others. This might be the greatest overall “high score” to date. Shakopee High School’s Saber Nation Station is a resource room where students can access items they need to eliminate barriers to success. With the support of the community, they provide clothing, toiletries, and school supplies to ALL students, free of charge. SNS is run by volunteers, Shawn Hallett, Kristin Koller, Melissa Klohn, and Kris Menning. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to SNS, you can contact them via their Facebook Page, Saber Nation Station . If you would like more information regarding the organization, you can also visit their website at sabernationstation.com A big thank you to Midwest Starz for their long-standing commitment to giving back to dancers so they have the opportunity to give back to their communities!
